Visitors to the Burj Khalifa can now purchase bars of gold engraved with a picture of the world’s tallest building, UAE daily The National reported.
Two gold-dispensing vending machines have been installed at the Burj Khalifa, one at the observation deck on the 124th floor and the other in the gift shop on the ground floor, according to the newspaper.
The machines sell bars weighing between 2.5 grams and 1 ounce, with the 2.5 gram bar could cost 540 dirhams and the 1 ounce bar 4,874 dirhams ($1,327), the newspaper said.
The price of the bars will fluctuate to represent the spot price of gold.
It said other gold bar vending machines could soon open at Mall of the Emirates, Festival City and the Atlantis hotel.
There are currently six such machines in the UAE, including one at the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Buying gold for Canadians in UAE has now become expensive when you factor in the visa cost.
