Hi Everyone,

I have discussed this topic before about getting HST/GST Credits. I filed my tax in February 2011 for 2010 tax year. I arrived in Canada on 31 August and did not know anything about the RC 151 form. But later after filing the tax for 2010 taxyear in Feb 2011, after suggestions from CD members, i filled up the RC 151 form and mailed it to CRA. Now I got the Direct Deposit of $400 which is only my tax credit for 2010year and a letter from CRA stating that my income tax credit of $400 will be deposited in my bank account. So far that is good.

But there was something about the GST/HST Credit which i need advise for. Because it says that I will be notified in July 2011 for any available GST/HST tax credits for the period from July 2011 to June 2011. However as per the procedure, I am supposed to get all the GST HST Credit from the day I landed in Canada. (ie. October 2010, January 2011, April 2011 and then (the so told GST HST from July 2011 to June 2012) since I have reported my world income from Jan 2009 to Aug 2010 from India and Sep 2010 to Dec 2010 in Canada by filling the RC 151 form.

I have not got nothing from CRA in the form of HST GST Credit so far since the day I arrived in Canada (Aug 31 2010) till date (25 June 2011)

(1) So, my question is, will i be able to get the GST HST credit for Oct 2010, Jan 2011 and Apr 2011 or I will only get GST Hst from July 2011 to JUne 2012 ?

(2) What could be the reason for this? (cuz they did not receive the RC151 information or they made the tax assessment without considering the RC151 form. However I got the letter from CRA on May 27 2011, but I send RC 151 form very early on Mar 15 2011.

(3) What should u suggest me to do to get all the GST HST Credits for the last year and this year (from the day i arrived in Canada)?

(4) Do I have to resend the RC 151 or call CRA regarding this?

I would appreciate if anyone reply to this and suggest me what to do as I dont want to lose any available credit just cuz of any mistakes made by me.
