Agreed. We cant change the mindset of the people who want entertainment. There is millions of $$ at stake for IPL. Sponsors are pouring money for it. Public memory is very short after all.
As far as Salman Khan, I have stopped watching his movies long back. Cant remember which was the last movie I saw. I think it's the one with Akshay and Piggy chop.

You must be kidding. We Indians value entertainment over ethics. IPL organisers have big money at stake and will make sure that the interest in new format is preserved even if it comes at the expense of traditional cricket. And given a population over 1 billion, it is impossible to change people's mindset.
If we worried about values so much, we would have stopped watching movies starring Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan because of their deeds.
At least a few can try!

As far as I remember the TV viewership and Staidum income declined during last IPL.
So we do have a hope that IPL would eventually die.

Reality tv is killing soap operas. Video killed the radio.
Digital cinema is killing traditional print cinema.
T 20( incidentally India LOST the first match today) will kill test cricket.
Eventually CRICKET as a game as we know it will have to change in format to survive.
