All the best on this project.
As a generic statement that got triggered off this post of yours - isn't "volunteer" an oft abused term in Canada?
In my opinion I would volunteer my time and effort to a cause for our society where ever in the world it may be. However in Canada, I have seen this as a means to extract free work in the pretext of "gaining valuable experience".

Hi,
Yes, you are right Bombamma. Unfortunately, this is how it is in Mumbai too, and this is how many people have got break in the industry take an example of Shahrukh he worked for free in his first TV serial Circus for many episodes and rest is history..there are many examples of many celebrities, actors, directors, who did not have funds to start from..but spent time (free) worked hard and got recognition for their work..money can be earned later on but would need to get a break someplace first...
Volunteer is still better than "Compromise" I am sure you are aware of what I am talking about if you are from Mumbai industry..
Thanks anyway...

Ya, but I so wish it were true all the way.
Its not about money alone. Its about how the word is being abused in the pretext of being altruistic by the ones asking for volunteers. Its about people who have experience are yet asked to volunteer to gain "experience". I have done my bit of volunteering, I have seen many of my friends being given measly bus fares to volunteer and then in spite of the long hours they put in, the employer squabbles over a one misplaced bus ticket.
In Bombay it must be for the break in filmdom or the entertainment industry but in TO I have seen "volunteers" being taken for a ride for less glamorous positions.

Goodgirl---It all depends how many hrs. one can contribute and u r expecting, since it is volunteer job.
My nephew is in animation film making and spend 6-7 hrs in a day on this.
I know somebody who is documentary filmmaker, again spending 6-7 hrs per day in this job.
I do not think anybody can spend 6-7 hrs everyday for 3-4 months of minimum commitments.
There should be some incentive to attract people--- Just a suggestion.
