Hello Everyone:
I have few questions to ask before actual citizenship test. As i had been away twice from canada and stayed in Spain for about 45 days. In my first visit, I went to see my fience and in second visit we got married in spain but i have not changed my marital status yet.
I want to know wether i should let the officer know the reason of my absent from Canada or not? or i should just say that I went to have casual visit? I am afraid if i give them wrong information/ or dont give them the real reaon wether its gonna affect my case in any way? would they care or not?
I would appreciate if you would give me answer and explain how should I go through this situation.
Why do you want to hide your absence? From what I know, they dont care why you were away as long as you were not away for more than the period allowed.
When filling out the citizenship form, they ask you details of your absence from Canada. I don't recall they ask you specifically at the time/before the citizenship test. It's usually the casual conversation when you're called before the test at the test centre.
So, just relax. If they ask, let them know the truth. You may have already mentioned it on the forms you filled when applying for the citizenship.
