CRAIGSLIST :

All of these change each and avery day, as we speak, they get taken. So look for what is available just before you start. If needed, make a phone call from INDIA. Do not send any money, pay on arrival, if it is still available.
Also, here is a P.G.Accommodation. :

PUBLIC TRANSIT :
http://www.calgarytransit.com/
They have a built in route map and the SYSTEM map also. It also gives you numerical routes and Alphabetical index also. It is $3.00 per ticket. Buy them in lots or take a transit pass, it is tax deductible when you earn and make a few bucks.
Just in the Passing for about 100 bucks, you can get a "TOM TOM" a portable GPS, that will give you all of the details and you are all set. You will love it.
Starting now till November it is Airconditioned. After November it is an ICEBOX. Summer was yesterday.
Take any room, furnished or other wise. Buy an AIR MATTRESS from Canadian Tyre and get by for a day or two and then slowly buy, JUST THE THINGS YOU NEED, No more No less.
BUY a Nice Light JACKET, for year round use. A pair of mitts and a toque to get by. You can get light running shoes here for about 15 bucks at the Walmart.(A department Store)
If you see any XSCARGO, you can get a few pots and pans as a set.
There are a few Indian Groceries there :

Electronics : Factory Direct there :

Hope this helps.

Just checked and it's -5 in Calgary as we speak, so summer though officially started, is still afar. They have Chinook winds, however - Google it.
Count on 3 months of summers in total. Alberta is notorious for its cold. So, pack accordingly.
