Canadian oil is v expensive to produce (Tar sands) compared to middle east oil. In fact oil prices are low because the opposite of what was suggested in this post is happening.

Saudi is dumping oil to shut down north american production. Labour and extraction costs are higher here. Also they want to shut out the russian influence in europe.

Oil prices may fluctuate but eventually they will trend higher so dont buy your V8 SUV yet
