Surprised to see no one is talking about the Canadian elections. Considering Ontario is the deciding factor, this can be very interesting. I seriously think the country will split with Liberal majority or coalition.

Who does the Desi community supports?
Who do you think will be the PM?

Looking forward to your responses.

I always support the WINNER.

They (All the CD's) are the first ones who supported the winner. Wait till the results come in.

WHO? Your guess is as good as mine.

I was looking deep into my TOOGOO100 It is also called the CRYSTAL GLASS. It is still dark as hell inside. Now I know WHY? I am short of Di-lithium Crystals. I am going back into space and get back to STAR-TREK. I might find them in another planet.

All Canadians must know that Alberta - Canada sells oil to US on discount . Yes on much lower price than international market . Lets say international oil price is $ 60 but Alberta- Canada have to sell oil to US less than $50 ? Cause Alberta can not export oil to world as Alberta does not have costal access .
Does Eastern Canadians knows that due to Trudo's policy there is growing frustration and thinking of separation from Canada ?Alberta producing oil and there is huge reserve to produce more if there is access to cost . Government and people are involved in useless discussion like pollution and carbon tax . I dont feel any noticeable pollution here as compare to India / China / Middle east . Present government and playing politics of appeasing of certain group who unitedly voting . Trudo managed to appease and gain votes of certain class / group who unitedly votes . He is wisely playing divisive politics , I am sure he is going to be here for many more years as He gain support of certain religious groups and lower income people .
I am frustrated , I dont see bright future for our kinds .

Very well said. Look at this link on the equalization payments. Where do you think the money will come from now with Alberta doomed to fail. When we hell bent on our own self destruction, nobody can save this country. Only God knows what to come now. Don't know what to say of NDP and its leader.

LONG TIME AGO, in 1857 they  found oil in Pennsylvania.
In Canada...Oil was first discovered in southwestern Ontario in 1857. Early explorers used the presence of oil seeps on the surface to locate their targets. In Alberta, Canada's largest oil-producing province, gas was discovered in Medicine Hat in 1904 and oil at Turner Valley in 1914.

That was about the time Henry got his FORD moving and the demand for the oil picked up. That was for the oil. Up until 1972 price of CRUDE was about $4 US. After that everything started to move up.

National Oil Policy (1964) Drilling rig in northern Alberta.

After the big discoveries of the 1940s and 1950s, the U.S. noticed that Alberta was protected from invasion by the wall of the Rocky Mountains to the west, the vast boreal forest to the north, and the bottomless swamps of the Canadian shield to the east, but was highly accessible from the vast industrial areas of the U.S. Midwest to the south. Its landlocked location was easier to defend from foreign attack than the United States own oil fields in Texas, Alaska and California. As a result, the U.S. gave preference to oil imports from Canada, and for the purposes of energy policy treated Alberta as if it were a U.S. state. Since this resulted in producers in Alberta receiving better treatment from the United States government than the Canadian government, producers asked the federal government for access to the Eastern Canadian oil market. Oil producers in Alberta calculated they could deliver Alberta oil to the refineries at Montreal for a cost equal to or only slightly higher than the price of imported oil.[citation needed] However, the Montreal area refineries and the Quebec government balked at the restriction, so the result was the National Oil Policy of 1961. This drew a dividing line at the Ottawa River and gave Canadian producers exclusive rights to the areas to sell oil to the west of the line. Refineries to the east of the line could continue to process imported oil.

Not everyone was happy with the arrangement. The aim of the National Oil Policy was to promote the Alberta oil industry by securing for it a protected share of the domestic market. Under the policy, Canada was divided into two oil markets. The market east of the Ottawa Valley (the Borden Line) would use imported oil, while west of the Borden Line, consumers would use the more expensive Alberta supplies. For most of the 1961-73 period, consumers to the West paid between $1.00 and $1.50 per barrel above the world price, which, just before the 1973 OPEC oil embargo and price increase, stood at around $3.00. They also paid proportionately higher prices at the pump than Canadians east of the Borden line.

Before this. Energy was very cheap. KWH was 4c Delivered. Gas was $0-45 C/ for a IMP.Gallon. 4.5 liters. It was 12-16/cents per US Gal about 4 liters. Nat Gas was 6 c CU.Ft. Del.  Take a look now.  We are paying through our nose for everything. Half the cost is tax based. But we have HIGHWAYS that look like runways, double wide.

We are using TAR SANDS, Sorry, OIL SANDS to extract our oil. We are Vertically Integrated which permits it does not matter which way the world oil prices moved, we in Canada are at the mercy of Alberta. Our prices at the pumps will stay high for ever. We sir, are SHAFTED. If Albeta wants to separate, I am crying. But it is tears of happiness. They sure do need help. That the FEDS should try and help. But there are other hurdles, loops and hoops to go through. Don't forget the oil belongs to the NATIVES. They want the Lion's share. They are getting smarter each ans every day. Now they say please bend down, it is their turn to screw.

US has found cheap OIL and now it does not want any Canadian Oil. For $40,000 each Tesla should be making Cars in Canada. We need products that are in Demand. If China can make EV's for $12,000 why cant we join the Chinese and make a few of their brands. They are good too. We can use the Driver less or WITH Driver Cars. Who gives a SHOOT. We are making tons of money making bread and selling it for $4 a loaf. Also $8/meal at lunch time. We are proud so we spend it. One BR Apt rents for $1500. How high will it go to make us feel we are rich? Take a look at the University students, they are stacking them Three to a room in Dorms. It is getting tough. Pride yes we do have it. But it hurts to see some one starve and not have a roof over their heads.

Why is all of this is happening here in Canada. We are rich in minerals, produce and Natural resources and also in BRAIN POWER. Because there are no VISIONARIES. We will need one to get us going.

The reason for Quebec not allowing Canadian oil to flow east is very simple. There are many politicians in the east in particular in Quebec including our PM have a big stake and make millions from getting the Saudi Oil and this will vanish if replaced by the oil from Alberta. As simple as that. Why would anyone would like to see their easy money go away and they are no different than Indian politicians. Make money at the cost of nation interest and national unity. Who cares.
