for son's first birthday
I am looking for small party hall , for like 35 people max, in scarborough, north york or markham
any suggestions , banguets halls are too expensive and too big for me
i just need a hall , where i can arrange food and drinks myself , fast replies pls

Have you tried Community Centres ?
Most condominium buildings have a party room, if you or your friends live in a condominium building that could be an option

1.Yeah Community Centres and Party Room in Condos and even some apartments are a very good option. You can then do some catering yourself or give a contract to some desi caterer
. For $ 10/person all inclusive you can get very good food, including non-veg, desert, appetizer etc.
Drinks i.e Alcoholic if you are getting on your own and you want to do it legally , you need to buy a proper permit/license for that day to serve them. But most desis don't care and just go to LCBO, Beer Store and just serve them
to save a few bucks . You assume all liability and consequences if you serve alcoholic drinks on your own
Someone drinks and drives and gets into an accident, he can sue you . Cheap desis are capable of doing that
2.The other option is regular BUFFET restaurants , mostly Chinese or Indian, where you can close of a section and its reserved for you. You just pay them $ 50 extra for that, and whatever is the regular price of the Buffet. They will arrange Birth Day cake for you too. Only problem is other people will also be there in the restaurant, so not just your party people, all though your seating area will be cordoned off and reserved
. Drinks can be expensive though, all though buffet is cheap 3. Other option is places like Chuckee Cheeses, Playdium, Cineplex, Laser Quest, Gaming centres type of places which throw kids type of themed parties . Mostly Goras throw these type of parties, where Children are running around and playing the different games/activities and keeping themselves busy/entertained
. Expect mostly pizza, pasta, burgers, fries, chicken wings type of food at these places 
If you arrange in some hall. Ask them if chairs, tables, plates etc are inluded or not. Sometimes they are, sometimes not. Plus you will have to clean everthing and keep things neat and tidy after everone leaves. Like picking up the left over food, garbage etc
Lot of Temples and Gurudwaras and Mosques might also have these type of rooms. But I don't think non-veg and alcoholic drinks and loud music and stuff like that will be allowed in some of these religious places
