Anyone with inside knowledge please share.

thanks for a link Hiren....

Read for yourself the draft of the Jan Lokpal bill, and upto you to decide yourself:

http://www.aamaadmiparty.org/janlokpal

Now, whether or not is it Jokepal, only time will tell. But, at least have a look at the details first hand.

You don't need inside knowledge, when it's in the full public view.

As I said earlier too, it's just the war of ideologies. BJP and Modi supporters are adamant to bring down Kejriwal, but in vain as we have seen in Delhi Elections, as their ideologies don't lie with the latter. On the other hand, Kejri supporters are having their own set of ideologies. Both may not agree with each other, but the show keeps going on.

Someone else is filling their coffers, and we are unnecessarily being worked-up. Heck! We don't even vote in any Indian elections.

Relax, guys! They are just politicians and do what they think is best. Just pick whatever they are doing good for the country and the State, and criticize what's wrong. Not that difficult, eh! Why call names when they are not at all affected by your endorsements and patronization. Jo unhone karna hey woh kartey rahenge, aur hum yahan faaltu mein morons ki tarah argue kartey rahenge.

You are in Canada, so have fun and enjoy the clean/corruption-less environment.

Take care! Happy Friday y'all.

This seems to be the original draft and not the one approved by the delhi cabinate recently (as per Bhushan's claims in the article). The provisions which Bhushan claims in the article are not in this draft.

Anyone can clarify?

Ok, then in that case, we will know once it is tabled in the Assembly. It will then be in the full public view. Read that, and decide upon the intricacies. Again, we already have so many bills/amendments/laws/regulations in India. The key is not in introducing, re-introducing them, but enforce them 200%. It's the enforcement of the given laws that is the culprit here; and has always been since the inception of independent India. Unless you have an independent Judiciary, Policing, Investigative Agencies within the purview of their own, but devoid of any Govt. interference, you can't see a changed India - this, next, or in another 1000 years. I am afraid, the country is stuck and no concrete steps are taken. Politicians are not even trying, which is scary in any run - short or long.

AAP Govt's Janlokpal Bill 'Worst Than a Jokepal': Prashant Bhushan

Prashant Bhushan, who formed Swaraj Abhiyan after being expelled from AAP, said the appointment and removal of Lokpal by the government itself fails the whole purpose.

"The Chief Minister, speaker, the Chief Justice of Delhi and the Leader of the Opposition will choose a Lokpal. This means of the four, three are from political class and two (the CM and the Speaker) are from the ruling party or the government. The dismal will be in the hands of the government as it prescribes removal by a two-third majority. Our fight was that the appointment and removal of Lokpal should be free from political interference," Prashant Bhushan said

He noted that under the original Lokpal draft there was a demand to bring the CBI under the Lokpal, but under the proposed legislation, the investigating agency will aided by the officers recommended by the Delhi government.

I hope I can comment on this with as much objectivity as possible. Please note that the relationship between Prashant Bhushan and AAP, specifically Kejriwal has been pretty rocky and the former is now sitting outside. Although, he, being the founding ousted member has every right to comment upon the party, his views should be taken as biased. This applies to anyone that criticizes the party once not a part of it anymore. The criticism is just, but his position is not.

Let the bill come into full public view, you yourself can read it as well as me, and then decide if it's Jokepal or not. Whatever is the case, we need a strong enforcement, and not just the pile of papers biting dust in a corner of the Lagislature. Only time will tell. Until then, your criticism is just that sans any substance.
