I checked the Facebook messages sent by me... I have never sent him 12 messages in 5 minutes.

But does Facebook autolist as a spammer for sending someone messages??

Your borrower is smart. I am not saying he is ethical. Not only he does not return the money owed to you but he is able to put some sort of fear in your mind.

I do not know if Facebook will list you as a spammer if you send 12 messages in 5 minutes but then it could be dependent on the type of messages you send, were they all same, were they different, did it contain threats, did it look like a normal conversation, etc.

Why are you so worried about Facebook if you did not send 12 messages in 5 minutes?

I sent different messages as a normal conversation, no threats etc.

I was surprised when he wrote that, hence I am curious to know if Facebook ever does this for my own knowledge and as a concrete evidence to prove that he is lying.

How does it matter whether he is lying or not OR whether he claims that FB has put you as an auto spammer - you can always clear yourself with FB ..

I guess your main objective should be to recover the money and posters here have provided you a direction.

Keep us updated .

Get off FB and get to the court. However, retain your FB messages with you as evidence.

As I made an Online Transfer, I have the proof of transferring the amount to his bank account. I also sent him mails and messages, SMS, which I have saved.

Can I file a police complaint against him on charges of cheating etc...

Are you sure you are telling the whole story or only your side to project you are a god guy? You just moved there 2 years and how well you know this neighbor? Is he your friend, relative, colleague that you know for a long time?

It looks like you only have one way transaction here. You did the on line transfer, you sent the FB follow ups etc. This does not really prove anything unless he has acknowledged that you lent the money on his request. In the court, he may even say you just returned his money that he lent it to you. Do you have any document from your neighbor asking you for money and your response saying you will lend the money and did the transfer? From your postings, it does not seem that way.

You need to ask yourself: Did you really transfer the money in good faith or in return for a higher interest and now regretting it? Either way, if you don’t have a proper document, you may not have a case. Take it as a lesson learned and move on.

Online money transfer is no proof that you lent him money. He might claim that you were making a payment for some service or some goods that he sold you or that you were returning the money that he lent you. Or maybe even a gift from you!!

Do you have something in writing that explicitly indicates that it was a loan to him and when it was to be paid back? Maybe even anything in writing from him acknowledging a loan received from you?

If not, then forget about courts and filing complaints. You'll be wasting your time and money.
