Can work around employment issue

Let qualified immigrants work
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Worth Repeating, June 22.
Before immigrants make claims about invisible granite walls built into the minds of Canadian employers, they need to consider all issues.
I have a Doctorate from England's Cambridge University, but despite a nine-year job search, I have never been successful in finding a permanent job in Canada. I easily found work in the United States and in England, but never in Canada. I am not an immigrant: My family has been here since 1780. The only way I have found to live in Canada is to operate my own business. So, instead of whining about a perceived prejudice, perhaps landed immigrants should work around it, as I have.

Hey Daksha,
Could you share your solution with us.Seems interesting.I guess you mean open up a business or something of one's own.
Maybe now a days the climate is for own enterprises or business, rather than jobs.
Whats your idea?
Regards
Northwind

Those who want to make their dreams come true dont sleep
Yep
Thats what I did . easy to get contracts in canada/US than fulll time employment besides you save on tax as self employed . You generally make more than what you would make as an employee but more work and all business expenses are deductible on taxes
Works for me

We will find a way or we will make one
Businenss is not that simple. The chances of failure is as good as any field maybe even more. And many of us who were at officer level in our countries are not the typical "business minded" people. Else we would have started a business back home. We would like to have office Jobs, thats is what we want.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
