I want to know how to go ahead in teaching profession and Distance Education over here in Canada ?
Please guide me so that I can plan accordingly in my teaching or Distance education profession.
Thanks and Regards
Ashwin,
I would like to congratulate you for getting your immigration process completed.
What i have known of canada so far (mind you i am also very new here) is that you need to talk their language. I mean not english but talk from their prospective. I think you should be able to get into your profession once you are able to relate your existing experience with the standards followed here. I dont know much about your profession but may be you might have to do some sort of exam or study to get into main stream.
Another thing which i can't resist answering is your plan to arrive in Canada. In 4 to 5 months its going to be very cold and may be lot of snow fall. It is going to effect your job search. I would really advice you to come only after March make few bucks from your present job prepare for any exam or prerequisite required here in canada.
But then this is what i think i am sure we will have valued input from our other senior members of CD.

hi ashwin,
if you are interested in the teaching profession you will have to get your teaching qualifications certified by the education authorities of that particular province if you plan to teach in an institution funded by the govt. for private education schools or colleges you need not have the certification.
for eg if you plan to teach at the school level (primary or secondary)in ontario or toronto your qualifications will have to be certified by the ontario college of teachers since teaching is a controlled profession at school level
i fyou have to teach at the college level you need not have certification.
you could find necessary info on
edu.gov.on.ca
