I too personally know one guy who had a good earning business in ME nad immigarated here in business class. Could not choose a business hence entered in franchise of Megawrap. After two years and loosing a big chunk of money he has hust closed the business. Now he is going back to ME. Thanks God his Business in ME is still running.

My principle is simple "If something was easy, everybody will be doing it."
Establishing and running a business is lot more difficult than finding a job.
On average, 3 years are required to establish a business properly even for people who have lived and worked in Canada for a while, most probably lot longer needed for "new" immigrants.
There is no free lunch for anyone anywhere.
I know immigrants, both business and skilled categories, who are very successful.

Well, so it means it is not only a sad case for those wanting jobs, even people who come here with loads of money to start businesses are having problems and deciding to go back.
Infact, one of my friends who has a good business in the ME for last 20 years, decided to leave Canada earlier this year after trying hard to set up shop for 4 years in Toronto. He not only lost 3 years, but also lost over 150K in the business.
Sad situation!

It is not advisable to invest a lot and start business in a new country without getting local knowledge of say 3 to 4 years....
Business culture in Canada is entirely different....than waht you see in India/ ME
Business involving less manpower and investment like s/w or export / import might click.
