At the bottom of the cooking pot that you will be preparing your Biryani, layer it will sliced 1/4 inch potatoes. This prevents the rice from burning at the bottom. Also the potatoes get a great flavor when you are ready to serve.

I have tried the SHAN Biryani masala. ( Sindhi Biryani). cooked it with lamb and as per the directions. Came out delicious.
