What things to be taken into consideration before renting an apartment?
What is the rent for a single bedroom, kitchen, hall, apartment in Toronto?
Do newly landed immigrants face any problems, while renting an appartment?
Is it compupsory to pay One year's advance, or can rent be paid on month to month basis?
If anyone can answer my queries.
Thankyou.

There are three kinds of accomodation we desis are getting:

Apartment in Highrise building
Basement Apartment
Paying Guest

And there is one special - Sharing accomodation, where two families are sharing same apartment.

Typical rent in GTA area for apartment is 1000 to 1200 for two bedroom apartment
Basement apartments are ranges from 700 to 850
Paying guest (including food) charges are 350 to 450 per month.

Basement apartments are good choice initially when the income is not there or is very law. But please check that they are good ventilated and heated.

You have to pay one month deposit plus one months rent in advance. Apartments (highrise) might not rent it to newcomer because of not having a job or credit history, but there are many places where lots of desis are living and you can get apartment.

They lease it for one year. You have to sing a contract. If you need to move, you have to give two months notice.

I guess I ansewred your question.

Yes, before you decide check proximity to TTC, Schools, Banks, Desi Stores and Malls.
