Thanks Garvo Gujarati, Tammudu and Mr.Massood, I had followed your advice, obtained my Finger prints both from FBI and NY State and submitted them to CHC, NEW DELHI. I've already submitted my families passports on 9th June 2003. CHC has asked me for my our new photos and prood of liquid funds on 25th June 2003. These have also reached them on 30th June 2003.
Hope that they would stamp our passports shortly and send us by middle of this month. How long does CHC, Delhi take for stamping the passports?
I plan to land alone by end of August 2003 and settle down, and then would request my family to follow. They would land and go back to India, and join me by mid 2004, as my children would finish school in India.
My Question for Advice is as follows:
As per my requirement I'm required to show Canadian Dollars of
17, 289.00 for a family of 4. If I land first with my family to follow, should I carry CAD 17,289.00 or should I carry the CAD 10,000 + for myself and mention at the point of entry that the balance would be brought by my family when they follow.
Suppose I need to carry the full CAD 17,000 + while I enter alone, does my family (wife and 2 kids) need to carry the further CAD 7,000 once again while they land ?
Your valuable advice is highly appreciated as I will be able to plan my finances accordingly.
Incidentally I have a few FBI finger printing forms to spare in Chennai, India for any body requiring the same.
Regards,

- WISER TO CARRY THE FUNDS YOURSELF SINCE YOU ARE THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT AND THE SETTLEMENT FUNDS REQUIREMENT ATTACHES TO YOU NOT YOUR DEPENDENTS.

- NO

I did the same thing as you think. You can bring about 60% C$10000 is enough. Remaining money can be brought by you family when they arive.
I brought 50% money required.
Yogesh,
Aren't law changed now?
