Any store in Brampton or Toronto that sells authentic CDs/VCDs without burning a hole in my pocket.
I do not want labels such as Ganga Series or T-Series, I need pure 100% HMV, Universal or other labels. But I am not sure as to how much mark-up they put against say, a CD that sells for Rs.125 in India.
Also, i am not sure if stores carry the stuff I want. They might be more busy selling "Mirchi Mixes" or "Kaanta Laga" stuff. I need vintage Pancham, vintage Kishore or vintage Lata.
I tried buying VCDs thru net, having shipped it in India and then getting it here thru acquaintance, but rediff charges Rs.50 shopping charge per VCD. That is too much.
Real Player has a huge variety in Hindi Music, but you need to be in US to download that music

yes, I am very much dada Burman fan, especially his 70s music. The only MD in Bollywood, who gave quality output till his last movie :-)

And to answer your question about getting original HMV, I have always relied on good ol' HMV tapes from India.
The recent tapes that HMV is producing are mere re-hashes of their old songs, and some of them have been enhanced with digital beats, etc.
Their old tapes (the ones that say "original soundtrack recording" ) are still the best.
Whenever I go to India every few years, I make it a point to get some from some stores that I know still carry the old stuff.
