Since lot of people are suffering due to excessive delays in Citizenship application process and no one hears it. One way to speak out is Petition the House of Commons I have posted below the draft petition. Petition should have minimum of 25 signatures. Several petitions are as effective as one with lots of signatures. Once signed you have to find MP who can present it to parliament best is to ask your MP to present it orally in House of Commons. Citizenship Application Processing Delays
PETITION TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED
We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following:
THAT processing time for Citizenship application has significantly increased and routine applications are taking 15-18 months and after Citizenship applicants had the Citizenship test they have to wait for Citizenship Oath up to six months in Mississauga, Scarborough and other GTA offices.
THAT these delays in obtaining Citizenship causes barriers in many employment opportunities for new immigrants specially with federal agencies such as RCMP, department of Defence, and most other federal jobs as Citizenship is either requirement or Canadian Citizens are given preferences.
THAT these delays in obtaining Citizenship causes loss of employment opportunities in private sector where companies need candidates to travel to branches or Head offices in USA.
THEREFORE, your petitioners pray the Parliament to give priority to processing of Citizenship application and try to reduce processing times to 6-9 months in routine application

I would suggest that we get commitment from 25 or more people to sign this document and fix a place(s) and time and meet for signing of this petition.

Now we hope hearing something good news.
I am as well ready to sign the petition for delay in my Citizenship application status pending since May 2004. Please if anybody is submitting the form now, can u include me for the Brampton region.?( Pl intimate me by email).
I think under one form , all 25 applicants must be from the same region that they applied for.. this will as well help the MP to represent the case better...
