It is so frustrating that after so much efforts, this government is so rigid.

I got CAIPS notes for my mother application yesterday. She had applied in Jan 2003. As per notes, her files is pushed to May 2006. One and half year.

Basis of appeal is that spouse application is processed in period of 3 months where as parents application takes over 4 years. CIC has no written instruction from Immigration minister to speed spouse application and slow parents sponsorship. So, if the appeal goes thru. Demands are met by CIC. Spouse and parents waiting period will be same. And further all pending application will require immediate processing.
Those who are waiting for spouse to come in fast will start agitating to this ruling. Any thoughts……

From what I understand, the appeal is to make the total application and processing time the same as it was back in 2003, so there should be no cause for a heart burn for anyone involved.

Ideally, I would say spouse immigration should be decoupled from parental immigration. That sure would simplify matters a whole lot more.

But appeal does not say that. Over and above it is more of China application which are in major trouble because of long waiting of 10 years. Other countries are within 3 -4 years time period as per website information. If the appeal goes thru well, China applicants are benefited from it where other countries PR sponsoring spouse will get bothered of waiting increase from 4 months to 4 years.
Personaly I am not effected either way....therefore I would like to think both ways before providing support to any cause. This will divide people in 2 groups : parent sponsoring & spouse sponsoring
If you compare number of spouse sponsoring will be less compared to parent sponsoring. So final result will be, spouse application gets delayed considerable and parents application improve marginaly.
I feel appeal should be to stop for time being new applicants and clear parents / family back log. But logicaly it is not possible.
