I wouldn't want to live a life like that myself!! Living like a vegetable is not "living". I am a strong advocate for euthanasia to be made legal.

Other than religious, there is absolutely no justification in having a person in Terry's condition continue to live.

Schiavo was in her state for longer than the persons in the above link...but one never knows.

Apparently, this person state was medically different from Shiavo's.

But you're right....one never knows.

Some clinicians make a distinction between a persistent vegetative state and a permanent vegetative state based on the duration of the vegetative state, but there is little difference in the prognosis and the ethical considerations remain very similar, if not identical.

Let people live and die in peace.

re the latter half...the Q in this instance is how dead is dead? If next of kin decides that pvs is dead and so does the court...can it then be argued that a severly mentally disabled person does not have to live either?
I'm against death penalty too...as long as there is hope, for the soul or physical self...I err on the side of hope.

Anyways...i'm glad there WAS a controversy...the ying and the yang...Crenshaw and Manasavi :).

Its a wonderful world :)

Death is really not that bad.

Its not the end, if you believe it.
