Hi all,

Well I am a white canadian who loves all Indian people. Only thing I find wrong I think in your culture and in mine are that every1 is out for money. To rob each other and use each other.

You have a wonderful useful site here. I enjoyed going thru it for the last few hours. You dont find such things for white people.

I find your culture very very strong and you should all be proud no matter what. There are alot of people here in Canada who are not open minded, not because they r racist cause they dont have enough education, lack of knowledge makes one ignorant.

My point being is maybe I am different from others, maybe I am naive but I am friendly and giving. I think once I move back to Toronto I am going to give up a room in my home to new comers. They would be allowed to stay in my home for 2 weeks till they find their own place. I would go around on the transit with them once they get there to look at apartments and to get their OHIP cards and SIN cards. They would have to buy my tickets. But they wouldnt have to pay any money to stay at my house. They would also have to buy their own food and clean up after themselves. Also when the arrive they would have to get to my place in a taxi I would phone ahead and see how much it might be so they wouldnt get used. I would help them with english best I could.

I think we should all be there for each other. Especially those who have come new to Canada.. can u imagine how much easier things would have been for you?? Wouldnt u have been more open minded to do it for someone else. You would only do it once or twice.

Then we wouldnt have some ppl out there making money on naive new comers. I seriously wouldnt charge a penny I wouldnt take any money. I wouldnt ask for something in exchange.

I belive in doing things for others because one day you never know where ur going to stand...

I think that is a great and very noble idea. I'm sure it would be a great boon to newcomers. Even if you charge a basic/nominal charge it would be well worth the peace of mind knowing there is a person one can count on to help - a friend in need is a friend indeed.

I will be arriving in Toronto in 10 days time, and this was my main worry since I will be travelling alone with my 2 children and my husband will be following later. After much time and research we were able to find suitable accommodation.

I'm sure your gesture would have the full support of this forum and it may inspire others to do likewise. I strongly believe that one's home is only as large as one's heart is.

Best Wishes and Regards,
 Margo
