Hi,

At the outset, this forum is very informative and helpful.

Interested in buying a 2 bed, 2 bath detached house (preferably) or a condo close to Dixie road & Bloor street junction - surrounding area.

Help/ Suggestions/ Advice - welcome !
Thanks.

Dixie/Bloor is Mississauga. What has it got to do with "Etobicoke (East)" mentioned in the Subject Line. If anything it's closer to Etobicoke (West)

:(

Thanks for pointing it out Sudesingh. Wonder why I made that mistake. :h

Both the school districts have a mixed bag of good and not so good schools. There had been a lot of discussion about the Schools in past, and I am pasting a few such links.

A Realtor can play an important role in finding you a home in a school district of your choice. Most of the time the home search starts with finding a good school district first. Once the above is done, it is very easy for Realtors to extract MLS listings from TREB (Toronto Real Estate Board; covers entire GTA), based on a particular geographic area/school district.

Read the above posts and find out more, and also learn how to choose the best school within a particular school board.

Amit Kalia - A Genuine Real Estate Agent!

As you would seen in some of earlier postings, I do not intend to settle down in Canada and also buy a place in CANS!

I know Amit, but he does not know me by person.

I strongly support the posting he has made. This is contrary to the postings of some other Real Estate Agents who have made in response to my earlier postings.

Investment into a Condo or House is something you need to plan, get expert advice and also involves long term planning. It also involves your (also your spouse)current work location, your career aspiration and the work locations of the same. It also involves your children schooling, grocery and other amenities. It also involves mortgage payments, if defaulted the risk of screwing up your credit history. It also involves things like property tax, utilities, cleaning up the snow in winter(if a house) if you don't and some body slips and falls you need to face a law suit.

I do not want to sound too negative, but there are lots of issues involved in buying a place then rushing into something which you regret later.

A salesman always tries to push you into buying something, so that he can earn his commission.

While Amit Kalia is not doing the same. He is more into guiding you, counselling you and helping you to make a right decision even if it involves not buying a place at the cost of his commission(his bread and butter).

I strongly recommend new immigrants to contact Amit Kalia and enroll on a session on buying a place to learn about the intircacies of various issues involved. A typical line they sell to you is that \\\"why are paying some one else's mortgage?, you can get your money back (your rent you are paying)by owning a place. It is not so simple. A visit by your plumber would cost you $80 per hour.

Guys give Amit a chance to help you!

Go Amit and Get them!

starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Dear Sankracharaya,

Thanks very much. I feel so great that our community is appreciating my efforts. I make a point to visit the real estate forum once every few days and answer any real estate queries etc. I do have a very busy schedule but still will encourage newcomers to send me an email and I will be glad to assist them.

Regards
