Unlikely. Especially with the IT sector not as hot as it used to be, most employers look for people with some level of implementation experience.

Sorry to disappoint you. But then again, that is only my opinion.

Sorry DGC but I gotta disagree with you on this one. Most "Institutes" run by Desis will provide you with hands-on knowledge on Implementation and will also provide you with "references" which is a very important factor when applying for a job. It is sad but true that most people, qualifed or otherwise, have to make up experience of x years in order to get a job. The Desi Consultants (read: Mamas) help with this.

A friend of mine is starting a new batch for ABAP and Basis next week in TO. if you have some Client / Server or DBA experience, PM me and I will give you his contact info.

How do you fake implementation experience?

The above is a mech engg guy with no experience in IT...

First he would have to learn a little bit of IT...

Difficult in a tight Job market.

Since when did SAP fall under the exclusive domain of IT? I've seen guys with Computer Science degrees Ho and Hum during SAP training while guys with Mech. and Production Eng. degrees are able to to quicly grasp the subject. SAP is more about Business Processes than IT. The GUI is just a Tool to capture these processes. The only area of SAP requiring any prior knowledge of "IT" is ABAP and Basis and that's why I made it clear in my previous post that if he has DBA or C/S experience, he should attend the training.

As far as faking Implementation experience is concerned, it is a lot easier than you think :D

Faking complete implementation experience maynot be as easy. Every company out there is not implementing SAP, so people know whats going on where (at least they should). How do you deal with that?
The guy has said he has no IT expereince.

This is not forms and reports (no offense to anyone and me:D ).
Plus since this is Applications, there must be a technical and functional sides. Right? And that usually one proceeds from technical to a funcational role.

So PM me about the course.
How much do they charge per module and the duration?
Contact info.

Thanks all for detailed reply. What I can understand from all posts that getting a job after doing this type of course is slim to NIL. however, these desi Insitute presents very rosy picture for Jobs etc. I agree with you all that getting actual experience ( or Faking it) will not be easy. Only positive side regarding me is that I had more than 20 yeras experience in OIL & GAS sector which is HOT nowdays. ( crude prices going to new high everyday). However, I am droping the idea of doing this course as I don't want to waste my money & energy.
Any new ideas are welcome.
