Hi,
My friend has got admission in Humber- Lakeshore campus. I believe its near downtown. He will be lamding in TO by first week of september and is looking for accomodation.
Does anybody study or know someone in Humber who could help him get an accomodation or atleast temporary accomodation to start with?
Peace
Hi Peace,
I studied at Humber 3 years ago. The lakeshore campus is on Kipling Ave near lakeshore, so the best way to reach the campus by pubic transit is to take the 44 south bus from kipling subway station. As for staying near the campus, there are many people who rent their basements or apartments near the campus and the info is available on the campus info board and their website. I would suggest that your friend get in touch with the International Department at the college as the folks there are very helpful. Here's the weblink to the International Dept :

Hope this helps.
Hi Akash (hope I am right with ur name)
Thanks for ur quick reply. I really appreciate that.
Actually we contacted the International Dept and they posted an ad for him too. But there hasn't been any repsonse from their end. And I was wondering if he could find couple of Indian guys to stay with to pull down the living expenses too.
Also since u have studied there u would know on campus job scenario. Do u think its easy to get there?
Is there anyway for him to get temporary accomodation?
Thanks again
Peace

Hey Peace,
Ask your friend to log on to Humber's website there is a section which deals with off campus housing. Also ask him to enroll himself on the International Student Dept's email list, they send out housing info from time to time and there are always Indian students looking to share a room or an apt.
As for working , he will have to get proactive , I studied at Humber's North Campus and there were a lot of on campus jobs. However, I'm not sure of the scene at Lakeshore but your pal can go to the North Campus and enroll with Student Recruitment. Ask him to walk with his resume all over the campus and drop it at different locations as when college starts there's always an opportunity and he can do the same at the Lakeshore Campus.
Hope this helps.
