Hi,
I am applying for a US tourist visa..
I wanted to know how long does it take to get one...
I have a canadian PR card and have been living in Canada for almost 18 months.
Also, Does any one know a good US immigration lawyer in Vancouver...?
Any help very much appreciated.

You need to first get an appointment to even apply for a US Tourist visa.
You need to pay 10 dollars and can be done thru the internet.
Following are the documents you need to have when you go in person after an appointment date is fixed.
1) Recent Letter of employment from your employer clearly stating the duration of work, what role, the salary details (this is very much required as it tells U.S. Authorities that you are not going to visit there and vanish and you have a job in canada to come back)
2) Your passport
3) A letter from the person you are visiting clearly indicating that you are only visiting them for the duration of x days from when to when and they will take full responsibility of making sure that you return back to Canada
4) Your bank statements (not an ATM statement showing the balance). You need to goto the branch where you opened your account and get the latest bank statement
5) All recent credit card statements showing the balance/no balance.
6) If you own an apartment/house, having the copy of the papers is a good thing to do.
1,2, 4 are an absolute must. The US authorities may not ask you for 1 and 4 but it is generally advised to have it incase they ask.
