I would like to know the price difference between India and Canada regarding various grocery items like tea, coffee, various dals (pulses), tamarind, rajma(kidney beans), chole (chickpea), various masalas.
Also plastic items like kitchen containers, etc. I just want to know if it would cost twice or thrice or how much times more than India!
Maybe I can carry less food items and more cookware if cookware is expensive.
Can the message board settings be made like when I login after I click on reply or new post button, I am taken to the same message. The other option would be to login first and then browse the board.

Just carry Groccery for the 1st week only. Desi grocerry is not that expensive here.
Plastic is inexpensive here. No need to carry it.
You may carry cookware which is a bit expensive.
Its not wise to compare Grocerry prices in India vs Canada, But for your information all dals including kidney beans and choley are available for around 3$'s for 4 pounds.
Hope that helps.

What about hair oils and toothpastes? I heard that they are expensive, is it true?
What is regular working hours and days of banks which covert TCs to cash? Can they be converted elsewhere to cash also?

A Proud Indian Canadian
Now that I am in Canada, I find almost all items are expensive when you compare the prices but then you earn more in Canada if you convert CAD to INR. You cannot bring everything from India for 64 kg(approx) baggage limit in airlines.
