I am OK with that..Garvo, would it possible for you to visit the park during this weekend to have a look and decide which section of the park would be suitable for the picnic?

Once we know the area, it would be bit easier for us to assemble in the park.

Thanks and regards.

Here is what we can decide.

Park cars in the first Parking lot. After parking walk to the west side of the park. We should be somewhere there.

Though it has a big walking trail, the playable area of the park is very small and it should be easy to locate CanadianDesis.

I see you all people are planning for picnic since April. You all like our politician. just think and say and continue talk. Please stop and talk something creative. All people have his own family and group for picnic.

See the response of DESI Meeting, Only few people were in Desi meeting. Please stop this thread for picnic.

I also like picnic but only with known person. First we have get togather and know each other personally then decide personally for picnic.

Even best of luck for your efforts for picnic.

bye

Thanks for your kind advise!

I don't think your have read this thread completely. Everything is decided. Lastely we were discussing what time is suitable to reach there.

So when are you coming to our meetins to know each-other? As we can see you in the picnic after that only.

Here's what's decided

Date : July 17th, 2004.

Venue : Bluffer's park - Scarborough.

Food -

Like Garvo suggested, for the food items, ever family should bring their own. But I agree with Manjeet that if everybody brings sweets for 25 people, that'll be too much. I think sweets or snacks for about 10 people should be enough.

When we eat, what we can do is split up into groups of those numbers and those groups can decide on how they want to share their food and snacks.

Suggestions welcome on this, but I'm guessing whatever we do here will probably be something impromptu.

Activities

Cricket will definately happen if so many desis get together. I think this will take up the majority of the time. We can also play stuff like Antakshari, Bingo etc etc.

Kids games will also be organized, and prizes will be handed out for the same.

----------------------------------------------------

I don't believe picnics should be meticulously planned, they're more fun when things are spontaneous. However we should have a rough guideline of what we want to do and then let everybody's wishes dictate when we get there.

What do you guys think?
