I am on H1 visa in US and my visa has expired although I have an extension for it till 2006. I have to visit Canada as I have got Canadian PR.
I would like to know what is the waiting time for appointment at US consulate in Canada for visa stamping after I register for appointment.
Thanks

Question:
I came to US from India on a F1 visa, after completing MS got a H1 visa from company A and then transferred to a company B.
I have only F1 visa stamp in Passport. I am planning to take H1visa Stamp at Vancouver in December(took an appt). I don't have a Canadian PR. Is it ok, or would it be better to take from India. Is there someone that you guys know of that have recently done that.
Will i need a original copy of my I797 Approval from first CompanyA ( i only have a copy).. I do have all other documents.
Thanks in advance for the info.
Good site!!!
From San Jose, CA, US.

Are you there?
Hi, Same question that i posted above... i couldn't find an answer for this in the previous posts.. could anyone please answer Or point me to the right section, Thanks much.
I don't have a Canadian Immigration/PR.. I am staying in US; came on a F1 and started working here on a H1.. Prefer taking a H1 Visa stamp from Vancouver US Consulate.. (Since my Visa status changed from F1 to H1 - i need to take that stamp from outside of US, In India it's taking a lot of time for the interview, there is no dropbox facility now).. Most of them are suggesting that i have to go to my home country to do that..
Did anyone here have / know of /heard a similar situation... Appreciate your feedback; let me know if this question doesn't belong here..
Thanks
sprabhs.
Friends,
Please advise :
I have an appointment for Visa endorsement at Toronto Consulate.
They sent me Scotiabank Challans asking me to pay before(To reduce the line on the day of endorsement) I go for stamping.
My questions are :
1. Can I Pay the fee on the day of the stamping ?
2. Do they have the facilities in the Toronto Consulate to accept the Visa fee ?
3. Will they tell me to go out and pay the fee and get the receipts ?
4. Would there be any problem if I go there with cash and without receipts ?

Hi Folks,
I am in a process of going to U.S consulate in Canada(Toronto) for my h1-b stamping. I would really appreciate it, if you kindly answer the following questions that I have.
1.How long does it take to get the appointment?, what kind of current back log can I
expect ? , as I am planning go to consulate in Toronto on the 27th of November.
2. Assuming I have an appointment for 27th, would it be possible to complete
the stamping in one day or would it take over a few days?
3. I am an Indian National with H1-B status in Canada and have a P.R status from
Canada, I am an Indian Citizen.
4. steps and process involved in the documentation (other than the h1-b paper work),
that I have to carry for my visa stamping such as stamping fee, application fee(if any)
etc;.
Please reply to questions as soon as possible. I greatly appreciate all your information and help. You may also reach me at
Thanks,
Rakesh.
