Hello friends,
I applied for Canadian Immigration in 2004 december. I was givenfile no. and my file was forwarded to detroit immigration section from buffalo section and kept my file in interview queue.
My badluck was that i received a letter from detroit immigration section stating that I was not eligible for personal interview and my application for PR has been cancelled. The reason they stated was that my total score was less than 67 whereas all the cited score points were assigned differently.
They assigned 20 points for education (where as I am eligible for 22 points as I have 16 years of education, Bachelors of Engineering) and similar way they reduced another 2 points for experience.
Can anyone help me out in this situation? What should I do, consulting with Immigration Attorney is going to help me?
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks
Prasad
Hi Prasad,
From whatever information you have provided, the Immigration department seems to have taken correct decision as you have a Bachelor's degree not Masters. Please understand the educational requirements require satisfaction of both CREDENTIALS as well as NUMBER OF YEARS of education.
This is a quote from CIC's Overseas Processing Manual"
"A university educational credential of two years or more at the bachelor’s level, and at least 14 years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent studies = 20 points"
"Three year post-secondary educational credential, other than a university educational credential, and at least 15 years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent studies = 22 points" (The key to understand here is OTHER THAN UNIVERSITY CREDENTIAL)
"Two or more university educational credentials at the bachelor’s level and at least 15 years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent studies = 22 points" (IF YOU HAVE 2 DEGREES)
I can't say anything about your experience as you haven't provided much information about it.
