Sahi baat hey, or koi sacha answer nahi hey to baad me bole ga " Yeha kya kar rahe ho, jao vaapas India flight pakad ke" Kya yeh "personal attack" nahi hey? Kyu BL ashe logo ko ashi comments sey stop nahi karata hey? Canadian system ke lia comment kara na koi Gunah hey kya?
Kap, in case you haven't noticed, I've told Crenshaw at a couple of places now to not make personal attacks. And I edited SF's post too couple of days back which I felt was a very personal attack. Also, when I noticed you had made a personal attack I pointed that out to you too (although I've allowed a lot of others to pass by without saying anything)
I have ABOLUTELY NOTHING against people who say negative stuff against Canada. But if you say something and someone opposes or questios you on that, don't go into the "Oh, you have a problem with me mode". You have to be able to further your point. If people do that while maintaining some decorum here, I will never interrupt as a moderator.

To answer the question directly:
Under the old rules, the points threshold was 70.
Under the new rules, this was modified to 75, however, because of the points structure, many young professionals would have not qualified.
For example, consider a 25 year old chartered accountant from India:
Education – 20 points (the CA qualification is not a degree therefore the points are based on the Bcom).
Language – 16 points (assuming full points for English)
Experience – 21 points (4 years of experience – assuming the guy completed his CA at the age of 21, using the Foundation Course route)
Age factor – 10 points
Total points in the above example: 67 points
Under the old system, about 10 points were available to an officer to use at his discretion. The new system removed that discretion, a lot of young professionals who could have otherwise done well in Canada would have been excluded by the above, therefore the points threshold was reduced to 67 points (the fact that the total of the computation that I made above is equal to the current pass score is only co-incidental).
I reiterate again, if there were no takers for Canadian immigration we would not have wait times of 58 months for processing!

I had taken "badha" for not commenting on crenshaw.......he has described cic as a extremly thaughtful body to help immigrant. That they decided to reduce points to 67 from 75 so that a CA can come and take up a job, but some fool in CIC was not ready to reduce processing time...........How many applications are pending to be processed and what is the number of application filed each day. Does 58 months sound reasonable????
Bhai Canada mein there are lot of jobs, if you have the capablities and desire to be successful nobody can stop you. The only catch in this statement is, Canadian companies decide your capablity. Please no argument with Canadian companies for their decisions.
