Hi,

Just curious about what kind of check CIC performs for Application of Citizenship. I have applied for citizneship (now it's 16th month). I called them and they told me that they are doing a second background check and reason they gave that the previous was valid for one year only. I have already written the exam.

I am a bit confused, is this something that happens all the time.

Happens in many cases. Background check can mean many things - from simply checking your addresses to checking your criminal records & even history outside Canada [in some cases].
