Hi Guys,
Hi,
I have received the Residence Questionnaire after the Citizenship Written Test. I have posted my RQ queries on CanadianDesi as another topic but I have something else to ask you.
I hold Canadian PR and I applied for Canadian Citizenship on 19 May 2008. I got my US PR in Jun 2008 and I moved to US in July 2008. I live presently in metro Detroit area in Michigan, USA.
While I was living in Canada, I was daily commuting to work in Detroit on H1B visa. And I completed 1095 days before applying for my Canadian Citizenship.
I got my Canadian Citizenship Written Test on 17 Jan 2009, and I went from Detroit, USA to Windsor and I told at port that I live in Windsor and I was traveling with my Canadian Friend. Now I have to submit my RQ and I don’t know further process.
Somebody suggested me that my Canadian PR may not be valid as I have US PR now.
My biggest concern is whether I am still Canadian PR when I have received US PR Card?
Am I eligible for Canadian Citizenship or I lost that right because I am US PR now?
Should I submit the RQ or just give up the Canadian PR?
How should I cross the border from Detroit to Windsor next time?
please advice.
Thanks,
Anurag
Why do you think that you have lost cdn PR - why did the person suggested this? It is not automatic. Also, if you have crossed cdn border (into Canada) using your US GC, then there could be a problem getting cdn citizenship. Because this is viewed as abandoning your PR status officially by the CIC.
Since you have tried so much, I would not suggest giving it up without trying (by answering the questions truthfully). What's the harm?

Thanks cdn_dude,
Now only two questions in regards to Residence Questionnaire:
1. Would I be fine if I do not submit Health Records or Doctor's Visit documents?
2. What is the Application Id?
Thanks,
Anurag
