I completed my medicals on 1st Aug, 2003. Got a "Positive selective decision" from Paris in Sept (Didnt attend interview scheduled for 17 Sept in Paris). Sent ROLF, Current employment certificate, Proof of funds on Nov 1st. What is the next intimation from the canadian embassy and how long does it normally take in Paris?
Thanks in advance for ur replies

next step - they'll request your passport for visa. All in all you are looking at 4 months or so.

Dear Sirs,
Thanks for the reply. There appears to be a hitch here. In the UAE, the original passports are held by the employers as security. In such a situation, can I request the paris authorities, subsequent to their requests for the original passports, to send the documents to their Abu Dhabi or Dubai branch for carrying out the necessary process locally?

No. The visa is issued by the embassy/consulate processing the application. You will have to send passport to Paris.

May i know the normal time taken by them to stamp the passports? The employers get quite finicky when employees are in custody of their passports especially when one handles cash
Thx
