Hi,
Please let me know how long does it take for the passport to Come back to India from Paris after the passport request and DECISION MADE shown on their website?
I have applied under independent skilled worker category from Paris.I live in India.
I sent my passport on 11th sept 2006 to Paris after they requested for it and their website shows DECISION MADE.
Please let me know

It takes about 2 weeks for them to process passport sent by mail. If it is presented in person, it takes the same day ( this is the procedure at Buffalo, USA)

By the way, how did you send the passport ? By any courier or Speed Post ? And how they are going to send you back ?

No courier takes the responsibility to take the the passports.They need a letter from MEA .Only speedpost is allowed to take the passports.The paris office will send it to my lawyer in canada.
did you apply in paris and what did you do or how and when did you get the passports.My passports reached on 19th sept.to paris and i had sent it on 11th sept by speedpost.please share the information you have.

What is MEA ? and how do I get the letter to send passport through courier rather than speed post.

No I have not applied in Paris, I have applied in USA and my dependents are in India so require them to send passport to me.

MEA is ministry of external affairs which is in delhi.You will have to go there and get it.I dont know how easy or difficult it is to get it.

Hi Dhiren

How did u apply in Paris? Did u go thru ur lawyer? Can u give a time line from the application.

I am planning to apply on my own and was wondering if planing in Paris or anyother station other than New Delhi would be faster?

hi,
You cannot apply in paris now.You can apply only from the country of your residence.I applied in 2002 and that time the rules were different and one could apply from any country anywhere.
I have received my visa on 26th sept 2006 after a very very long wait.
