It is expected that you will carry CAD 10,168.00
You can take every single penny of the money, or more, back when you go back. But for starters that is the requirement.
I should have been more clear on this....yes, the Quebec website mentions a lot less but the lady who took my interview and signed my QC selection certificate listed $10,000 as the funds I would be carrying. This is why the dilemma.
Perhaps it's because I showed funds well in excess of that amount considering bank accounts and mutual funds.
However, I plan to land with around 7500, show more in my US accounts and hope they are not hugely strict on this matter. I do not want to sell off the funds I have in India.
Bring all you can as I'm sure you will need ever penny.

That should be OK. Carry CAD 7500 and the latest statement from your bank in US and the last day balance printout from internet before you land.

Thanks for all the replies...I was on vacation so I missed this post.
I will take a printout of my US funds when I land tomorrow.
On another note, I just wanted to say this site has been such a huge help to me in planning my landing. I really appreciate the effort taken by the people running the site, and all other other members helping with their replies.
.........you must have ready access to at least to $20,000 in Canada while landing. then you can settle down faster with a car, mobile, laptop and internet etc. you will earn this back in three months........
Happy,
Is it not an overstatement? Earning back $20000 in 3 months? Can you explain which job , and that too in the first 3 months, will give about $ 7000 per month. You know the reality. Don't you? Write and guide with responsibilty to newcomers.
