I am doing my landing in march 2009 & I booked my appointment at Toronto US Embassy for H1B Visa stamping.
And NVARS called to warn me that my visa processing could take longer. The nvars was told to notify me by US Embassy.
Anyone had any similiar experience? Did your visa got stamped? How long did they take?
Thanks much.
I have heard this a lot from my friends and again I have *heard*. logically speaking *i think* that is because nowadays US Embassy wants to confirm two things before issue you H1
1) You do have job in USA and your end client wants your services. They may ask for letter from your end client describing duration of your contract and willingness to use your services (they asked this to me and i did not have it at the time of interview. They gave me 221g for which it took them 2 months to answer)
2) They want to make sure that all the companies who took bailout money should not employ foreign workers. However I have heard from few friends who are working in companies that did not take bailout money. They also got the same problem and processing took longer then expected.
My above observations are based on my friend's experience in India and Canada. I encourage you to take your own decision. However I do insist on keeping all the papers ready including your last few tax return, your degree certificates and other certificates, your past and present experience letter, letter from your employee confirming your employment and letter from your end client to confirm the duration and willingness to use your services.
