what all documents do I need from my spouse ( in india ) to complete the application for sposership.

how about calling on tourist visa and then filing the sponsership here? is it faster?

CIC has a mechanism inplace to issue a visitor visa to a a person who will or has applied for immigration to Canada. If I am not mistaken, please read section A22 of the visitor visa policy/manual that is issued to officers at the embassy's. The only catch here is that the officer should be convinced that your spouse will come for a temporary stay and has the capacity to go back. I think this is a difficult thing to prove. ( Have experience :) )

If all the documentation is in order then these days spousal immigration processing in New-Delhi office should not take very long ( read another posting that states that its less than 10 weeks ).

For the documents required please go thru the checklists. Yes, you should send everything that would prove that your marriage is not a marriage of convenience.

Personally, I spent lot of effort/time with:
- providing all the necc. documentation (more than what was minimum required.)
- gave each document a tag (say P1 for Photo 1) and refered to it in the forms or attached sheets (e.g. refer to attached document P1)
- Ensured that everything was in order and easy to refer.
- Scanned and photocopied the whole set before sending it to CPC -
may sound like paranoia - but thats just me ;)

You may sponsor your spouse any time. Check list is available in the Kit. There should be sufficient proof that you are in regular touch with you spouse including phone bills, (may be calling cards) and emails also. Processing time vary from 6 months to 12 months. In few cases, the cases are through even in less than 90 days.

You need to apply at CPC Mississauga and the complte address is in the KIT

You may try your luck for visitor's visa.

I mailed the required documents and photgraphs to mississauga office.
PCC and medicals are awaited from my spouse which I ll be posting as soon as I received them.

how long you guys think its gonna take... 8weeks, 10 weeks, 6 months, 9 months.
