Hi there,
No worries. You can get a certified true copy of your immigration document. Please use the link below in order to find more info. as well as download the application form for the purpose:
http://cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certcopy.asp
However, having said that, it may take a few months before you receive your certified true copy. I am in the same boat. Just like you, I lost one of the leaf of my immigration document, and applied about 3 months ago. When I called them about the status, it came out that it will take another 2 months before I receive my true copy. In my case, it's not so urgent. But, please give them a call at their call centre and explain your situation. See if something comes up. Here's their call centre no. from within Canada: 1 888 242‑2100
I am not sure (and couldn't find) if they have any inquiry no. from outside Canada. May be someone else shed a light on any other no. Otherwise, please have someone in Canada (any friend/relative) call on your behalf explaining your situation.
Hope it works for you. Good luck.
What is IM1000? I never received it. I do have IM5292. I applied for PR while I was in Canada.

I recently have applied for sponsorship of my spouse under the family class and other than a copy of my PR card did not need to submit any other immigration documents.

What is IM 5292 - I have never heard about it?
Both are one and the same.
IMM 1000 was given prior to when PR cards were issued. So when I landed in April 2002, I had an IMM 1000.
IM 5292 was given when PR cards were Introduced in Canada. So (as a live example), when a friend of mine landed in Sept. 2003, He was provided with IM 5952 and was photographed at the airport for the PR card.
Even during an oath, they ask for either IMM 1000 or IM 5292. So both are one and the same though the visual look is different.
