My friend is working in Canada on work permit.He is going to India and getting married in two months.He would like to bring his wife along to Canada post marriage.How long does it take to get the spouse visa processed?What are the essential documents for the same?Any option other than spouse visa so that she can come to Canada at the earliest?Can anyone help me please?
If your frind is on Work permit then his wife should be able to come here on Visitor Visa which she can get in a week's time at the most. The documents that they would need are:
Marriage certificate
Birth certificate
Bank Statement of friend here indicating that he will be able to support her.
Wife's funds if any like her Bank statement.
So far I can remember only these ...will update you.

Hi I am from india.my husband is in canada having a temprary workpermit till sep'09.i applied twice for visitor visa and got rejection second time i got three reasons only.1.travel history2.my personal assets and financial status 3.family ties in canada and india.my husband came in may'08 for marriag enad returned on 26 th june.
i showed my husbands bank balance of 10,000$ and salary 30,000$
inlaws balance 5 lacs.i showed my self as a housewife and recently resigned from job as planning to meet my husband.i asked visa till sep'09 ( till the end of my husbandsworkpermit)
please help me what i can do now.i have my personal property here .now i m planning to put up my file with it.will it make any difference?

THis is why they rejected your visitor visa .
As a visitor you cannot stay here for more than 6 months at a time.
If u had a job then you can tell that you have to come back for the job and that is a good reason for returning.
The next time u apply make sure u have a job, strong family ties like your parents are in india and u have to look after them and so on. also get a letter from your husband mentioning that he is going to return .
Everyone knows that if spouse wants visit partner its for staying.
Apply for a visa for something like 3 months. once u are here there are a million ways of extending your stay till sept 09.

i again applied third time in last wwek got again rejection.i dont know what the officers really want.first time thaey ticked on most of the 7 comon reasons in second they gave only 3.i got three reasons only.1.travel history2.my personal assets and financial status 3.family ties in canada and india.
now when i gave explaination of that 3 reasons in my third applictaion they gave me again 7 reasons in third time rejection.
you know in last time i showed my assets of RS 42 lacs + investments in Gold of 8 lacs ..this is my personal one
my inlaws balance is of 5 lacs..income 3 lacs
my hubbys balance is 10,000CAD$ and income 30,000CAD$

I asked visa till sep'09 ( till the end of my husbandsworkpermit) as they will easily know that spouse wont say for 3 months.so i asked till sep'09 and also twritten in my covering letter that we will both come back as my hubbys WP expires in SEP'09.stil they rejected me..
and yes main point my husband has also put up my File for PR kast month.but still sisnt get file number.i have explained my first rejection in PR file.then after puting up my PR file,i got 2 other rejections.so what to do? do i need to update it in my PR or that will be automatically updates?
and how much time it will take to get my hubby's PR right now he has having HRDSC WP....i think it takes 9 months? is it so?

Sorry to hear about the third rejection. I am not an expert in this area. May be some of the senior members could answer your question. I understand the frustration of being away from your spouse.
