Fears of lot of educated and patriotic Indians are coming true. Sonia is bent on dividing country and has taken the most important step towards the same by introducing quota in higher education and at the same time exempting minority institutions. This is bound to betray dreams of millions of intelligent Indians and in long run affect credibility and reputation of premier educational institutions like IIT and IIM and drive away business to China. To her credit, what British could not achieve in 250 years, Sonia and VP Singh did in 20 years destroying social, cultural and moral fabric of India.

Before other CDs gun for me, let me clarify that I am not against reservation but sure against the way it is , has been and will be implemented in India where , basically more upwardly mobile sections of OBC/SC/ST having money and clout usurp the benefits leaving the rest (really deserving but lacking clout and means) high and dry. I can foresee migration to Australia and Canada in a big way in next 10 years of intelligent but frustrated youth of India, initially for education (who can afford) and / or for job. I for have always have been wishing to return to India in future and while I believe I still can go back and be successful, now I wonder whether it would be worth. What will happen to my future generations who will be denied all the fair opportunities of advancement and education which is most critical for a good life? I now think that it is better for me to suffer here as my observation is that each successive generation in Canada suffers much lesser degree of discrimination while in India exactly reverse will be the case.

All those negative factors which make mockery of democracy are , unfortunately present in India and thriving. To name a few, Selfish (Manmohan Singh who wants to retain premiership), short sighted (Arjun Singh, VP Singh working for their own interest regardless of the future implications) and unpatriotic (Sonia) leaders, unenlightened voters, servile judiciary and sycophant media not having enough courage to challenge factors working against country/democracy. Nehru-Indira-Sonia has divided country on basis of language, religion, caste and sub caste. More I think of future, more I believe that the best accident (truly it was “accident”) that happened to me was my application to Canadian embassy for migration to Canada.

How do you see India in future? Divided and discarded or undivided united and leading the world?

I for have apprehension that Indira-Sonia-VP- Arjun singh –Marxist have inflicted such deep wounds that India will bleed to death unless some Amrit is administered.

Lastly I would like to urge other over enthusiastic CDs to read this post carefully before declaring me a unpatriotic. I still have wishful thinking that India would emerge as a great country and lead the rest of the world but a rational and dispassionate assessment of realities present very bleak future.

Guys,
I have been a part and parcel of this reservation policy. I have seen the Mandal-I agitation first hand. I have also experienced the first hand benefits of "reservation" (albeit, in a different category, the ex-servicemen quota..Thankfully I did not accept the offer)

Reservation is a good policy, only if it is done correctly. There should be serious thought in the Indian govt and in Indian society of using reservation once, and only once ! In other words, a SC/ST/OBC/ person can use reservation to get admission to a University but not use reservation to gain a job. The same thing can be applied if the reservation is forgone while gaining admission to the University but sought when applying for a Job.

Finally, the so called creamy layer of folks in all these categories should be STRICTLY excluded from the reservation system.

Now to criticize Sonia-Manmohan(*sigh! what a fall from grace for this man)-Arjun Singh.... thats a whole new ball game !

STRONGLY AGAINST RESERVATION QUATA SYSTEM IN INDIA..... READ THIS TO BELEIVE ME

I think it is just ridiculas that Indian govt increases sc/st/bc quata to 50%......
what the f*C***G hell the general people will do... and in IIT'S and IIM'S too. my foot, there are many ways to help those people, but not atleast on the sake of competition. India is going nowhere, if it continue increasing this stupid quata system.

I think the following ways are better instead of reservation in colleges for any category:-

1) reduce or I say zero the entrance fees of candidates in exams of common admissions, like IIT'S, IIM'S or any other medical or engg colleges entrance test.

2) reduce the fees in colleges and univ for reserved categ people.

3) provide them free entrance exam coaching books, especially who scored well in +2 exams. so they can prepare well without any excuse.....

4) for the wards of defence personal who died, or got injured at border or war, there should be a quata but not for the once who had just done another job.

and no one has right just to put those stupid laws and change the career for so many general students in India, where will those students go?

this is another example of INSANITY set by the Indian govt.........
and it just added one more reason to my diary for not going back to India......

and add to my above reply, I beleive that the political parties are just giving this sugar to people from reserved categories for increasing their vote bank...
how does it sound that such acts by govt are just increasing differences among people from diff background.
I don't think it is a democratic move in India.

when i was in a state engineering college in Mumbai, most of the people who were on ATKT were people who were what we referred to as the one-third category. Also there were several of them who changed their caste to get into that category. The resentment against these people was considerable then, one wonders how it is going be in this day and age.

Dear Nightmare and others,

You had a selected a nice topic about our mothers land’s future when we are residing on other lands.

This has to be debated and summarized and may be copy of deliberates to be sent to the President of India explaining this is the view of NRI’s.

Also, I have a question, Do we need to worry about SC/ST/BC/OBC…… when we are on other land because here there is no quota system for them to get a green card or a PR card.

Jai Hind

In my college there is lot of people who did their engineering in 6-7 yrs or never who came from reservation quota. They got the govt. job as class one officer or may be administrative jobs also.

That is engineering where people don’t care. What happen to medical if those uncompetitive people are doing surgery?
