Hi,
We are flying into Toronto in a couple of weeks. Since we wont have a medical cover for the first three months is it advisable to buy medical insurance from India or buy in canada once we land. If it makes sense to buy in canada, kindly provide some details about the procedure.
Thanks in advance.
Buy in Canada
It is easily acceptable everywhere and easy to contact local companies. You could buy "Insurance for visitors" from any Insuracne companies locally available

Do you know if any local company paid claims?
In USA I took visitor insurance for my parents and they denied claim stating its pre existing illness (My father got cough and fever)
I think India or Canada they are same.
visitor insurance is a fraud.
You can purchase visitor insurance but don't expect them to pay.
Try very very good and branded company even if you need to pay extra premium.

our friends recently got it frm india, icici, its cheaper from them rather than frm here.
Atleast with companies like Oriental / United India there is no fraud. It may grind slow but it grinds fine.
