my parents might be visiting me during summer.
they are 70 & 65 respectively.
i am wondering if I should get medical insurance for them.
is it better to buy from Indian or get it here?
if it is bought from india is it accepted here or can a claim be made only once they go back to india?
also, what's the deal with coverage of pre-existing conditions?
both my parents have chronic diabetes and my dad as chronic BP.
can anyone recommend good visitors insurance plans either from India or getting here?
please share any experience of getting insurance, filing claims etc
thanks in advance.

Actually there are companies that cover pre medical conditions as well. One company I have dealt with is TIC.You will have to pay higher premium and insurance policy needs to be underwritten by company underwriter. Takes couple of days for application disposition.Google TIC.
Also would recommend taking insurance from Canadian Company.
My parents have used both an indian company and a Canadian company. They had claims both times and based on my experience unless you have someone on the inside the indian company to follow up and get you your claim its quite a song and dance. The Canadian company proceedures were straightforward and they paid. I used Manulife. My mom has BP too so we definately stated that as a preexisting condition.
