Dear Mr Masood,
I had applied for Canada Immigration in Aug 2001 at Buffalo when I was on h1b and was placed in Interview Queue to be held in NY .I transferred my file to New Delhi CHC in Feb 2003 after I was laid off
.In the AOR after transfer ,it said they file date will be my original date of Submission(Aug 2001) and I have been placed in Interview queue
because previously I was also in Interview queue at NY( current waiting time for interview in New Delhi : 4 yrs),that is ,2007.
So in all I have to wait for 6 yrs for my canadian Immigration?Wont they do any initial assessment to decide if I need Interview or not?
Pls reply.
Hard to comment on specifics without knowledge of your file details. I don't think you have to wait until 2007. Since you are a pre-2002 applicant, the priority is to clear all cases within that timeline soon.

Hello Hanu,
Have tried e-client using your new file number? What does it tell?
I am confident that your time line shall be condider same as initial one.
Please give some detail as I have the same experience of file trnsfer. See my post on this independent forum.
Thanks,
Praveen Daruwal
Usually if you initiated the file transfer, the file goes to the bottom of the pile.

After transfer the file goes to the bottom of pile for "2001" applications(Orginally Applied in 2001) or "2003" applications (Year of File Transfer).
Morever does it mean....I have to wait 3-4 yrs (2006-2007) for the final selection because currently Delhi CHC is processing 2000/2001 Applications?
The eclient says in Process
Hello,
I believe Masood's response sounds logic as you know that as per May 2003 law any file transfer from inprocess visa post to the visa post of applicant's wish pushed the file at bottom.
In our case we were very patient since beginning as we realized heavy backlog at Damascus after submission of our file. Lately we found that by March 2003, Damascuss been cleared the files till March 1999. Knowing such fact , we submitted our new schedules in accordance IRPA to Damascus only and to our surprise within a week time of our new submittal Damascus transferred the file to London under CIC direction.
So on asking Masoodji, we understood that as our file is transferred under the CIC direction to London then we can hope to complete our process within reasonable time. We don't know what is our reasonale timeframe but we see all visa offices are extremely busy with transition rule and for that our several attempts to know even our new file number failed.
Again, we trust Masoodji's advise that London will not change our file number and will keep in processing under the same file number. So we satisfied with Masoodji and waiting to hear from London.
I shall post any development we receive from London on this forum. Meanwhile any comment to this view shall be welcome to me.
Thanks,
Praveen Daruwala.
