I filed for PR in March 2002 at CIC delhi. I got H1b in March 2004 and moved to states. I didn't inform CIC because it was a company transfer and not actually a change of job. Also the way thing works in my company, they send you back to India if there are no projects in US. However now its more than a year i am in states and my family has also joined me. Also now I am believe that I will be here atleast for the duration of my visa. Should I inform CIC about my change in location? It's already 38 months and CIC's suppose to do first assesment in next 4 months. Will this help me or will it create an opposite effect?
Has anybody filed in Delhi and immigrated from US? Is that possible?
hi....
I did the same.... but in my case i left the job in India ..and then come to new company here in Toronto ...
if you sure that you are going to saty for at least 2 year ... you can transfer your PR file to USA ... that will fast your case...

Hello,
1) Did u file ur canadian PR or individually?
If thru an agent ask the agent what wil be the best way out.
It is true that if u process the application from States it is faster.
Did u get the file number from Delhi?
The cic site doen't tell u how much delay will be it if u transfer the file to another visa office.
My H1b visa expires in next 1.5 yrs and i am not sure if I am coming back. So i don't want to transfer the file to US.
I filed individually and didn't use services of an agent. I got the file number from CIC delhi in March 2002. I have already waited for more than 3 yrs. Transfering file will again move me at the end of Q...
Have you been into a similar situation or know someone who has been into?
Also i want to know if i need to feel up new forms ( i applied in feb 2002).
Hello,
I don't think u need to fill any new forms unless their is any change in ur family(addition of new child etc).
If u r called for the interview u need to get employment letter, a new police clearance from India & or US when u get interview call.
Just wondering can u get the mail from the address given in ur application for CIC Delhi. If not try to give ur latest correspondence to CIC Delhi.
Mohan
Hi mohan,
I was wondering something similar.
Allthough i can receive mails on the new address, I don't know if CIC will send because I am sure they won't spend money on international mails and faxes. Am i right?
Thanks,
Picaso
Hello,
There are 2 options u have:
1) Let the file processing continue in CHC Delhi & wait till u a waiver or interview & go ahead from there.
2) If u r sure that u will be in US for more than a year u can get the file transfered to Buffalo.I do not know how long it is going to take for the file to moved from Delhi to Buffalo( may be max a year).
U will be taking a chance. The processing is faster in Buffalo.
Post in the forum for the cases filed during ur dates in CHC & also for file transfer to Buffalo.
Mohan
