Hi all,

I am a PR of Canada and I am moving to USA from September'06 on H-1B visa. Could anybody please let me know whether my Canadian credit history be transferred to USA by any means? How about the car insurance details, I mean can US firm check my accident history from the Canadian company?

No, your credit history is not transferable to the US. Your insurance (auto) is not 'directly' transferable but if you get a no-claims certificate from your insurance company in Canada, it will be considered for US auto insurance. So regarding Auto insurance, you will almost definitely be able to use all your canadian history.

I would suggest talking to the customer service section of the leading credit rating companies in Canada. They will be able to guide/ help you.
