I am moving to Mississauga next month(intersection of Hurantorio and Eglinton). Could you please give me some info on a couple of things?
1) I will be taking the GO train to go to work downtown. Is it worth driving to the GO station from this intersection or is it really worth taking the bus(mississauga transit) I heard that with Mississauga transit it is an extra $24 or something on your GO pass sticker to just use Mississauga transit to go to the GO station. I could drive but I heard the Cooksville parking lot can be a nightmare in the morning...
2) Should I go with Rogers Cable/internet etc.?
3)What is the best place to shop(Indian groceries) etc. and I know in some other posts you have mentioned good places to eat as well.
4) I need to buy a lot of furniture. Which would be the best place to do so in the GTA?
5) Any advice on buying a big screen TV/Plasma/HDTV/LCD, etc.
Give me a call on my cell 4164367500 or PM at ash.ghose@bell.ca. I stay pretty near and will be able to give you all the details.
Regards,
Ash

Hi,
I saw this post on Charcha after doing a search..I decided to revive it since my questions are the same as posted by Yellowknife. I am moving to the same area Hurantario and Eglinton at the end of next mth.
Yellowknife: Would really appreciate if you could help me with the things that you have asked for on your post. Mainly the questions relating to the GO station, closest Desi grocery store and good/well priced place to buy furniture in the GTA?
Thanks in advance.
hi, regarding some of your questions...
1. depends on time you want to spend in morning. as if you take bus it will take almost 20-30 min till cooksville, but if you take car it will take you 7 min(drive)+5 min(for looking for parking).
2. I think Rogers is a good choice, also if you have three services from rogers, they give you 15% discount, also installation is free. rogers is good any ways. (this is my personal opinion).
3. for Indian groceries there are many shops near by, as Mississauga is full of Indians and south Asians, the most popular one is at hwy 10 and dundas called Dundas Fruits.
4. Mississauga is full of shopping choices, we have every thing near by. you name it and its there. Depends what type of furniture you are looking for. dundas east is full of Furniture shops, Ikea is also another option.
5. for Indian food ... Village of India, brar, Sarvana bhavan, Bombay Bhel....lots of choices near by you..
6. for TV i would suggest go to futureshop and buy SONY. (again personal choice) depends on how much you want to spend and how big is your living area.
hope this will help. send me a mail if need more info.

Hi,
Thanks to all those who have responded so far. I am sure everything is available in Mississauga and that I would be absolutely spoiled for choices...I am looking for a few names though furniture stores and the rest.
Thanks
