Ya I know man....way too posh for me. The thing is that this company is out in the middle of nowhere...very hard for me to get there relying on public transit. There are houses near this place....

I know this area very well and you can find some people to take you around Dixie and Burnamthorpe area (East side of it). You may even be able to walk from there. Dixie and Bloor is another area where you can find tons of shared rentals.
Try to stay in that area.
SQ-1 is a very costly area. You are unlikely to find shared accomodation for $450 or so but you can find condo. sharing (in limited cases) for around $ 800-$900
Kijiji is the best to search for accomodation. Rockwood mall may have some advt's (esp. in the Food basics there)
