Hello CD members,
This sunday at 2:00 pm, the Pride parade starts at front and church. All details can be had in the link in my signature (will be there only till monday morning).
Are any CD's attending this. The Pride parade stalls are outside Wellesly station and it is a long list of stalls. Some sell stuff while others give it as free. It is an adult content packed stall and hence people afraid/ shamed of nudity should not visit these places. Personally i was immensely benefited by this parade. I attended the parade in 2002 and got the following things for free
1. Pencils
2. Badges
3. Maps and Note pads.
4. Free 2 sip iced cuppachino drink . You can go back to the end of the line and drink as much as you want.
5. Canada bags (Good quality and strong plastic bags with Canada flag attached to it. These are very strong bags and will be available at the HRDC stall in the pride parade. I took 1 kg. of bags and parceled 1/2 kg.- postal cost was around $23- to my parents in India. In turn, they gave some bags each to friends and relatives in india as soveneirs and every one loved it. it was a sort of status symbol in India). This year due to work at my office, I will not be able to attend it.
Just for the information of CD's and my view of the Pride Parade stalls as i saw it.

Just heard on the radio, that Proud Asian Indians are hosting a party tonite followed by Jazz Music featuring a Grammy Award winner.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
