I received a notice from Brampton municipality to register myself for the upcoming municipal elections. As per them, the municipal voter's list is based upon data provided by Municipal Property Assessment Corporation

I am surprised that even though acquiring Canadian citizenship puts you in federal voter's list, but it does not put you in municipal voter's list. Also, the source of municipal voter's list is not the federal list.

Is this a case of some stupid beaureaucracy???

The same thing happened to me as well. This is what happens when they have processes put in place which do not work.
